These are sounds I assembled and music I made and recorded for a great production of a play by playwright Alex Reed, directed by Brad Steinmeyer, for Fringe Festival 2014 at University of Colorado, Boulder. The play Believe is a futuristic dystopian allegory and narrative of a machine mountain that is both a crumbling city and a worldview dominated by a major religious order.

about

The Love Theme closes the first act and plays, looped in the house during intermission. Its more tender quality is an ode to the unexpected and passionate love affair between an existing member of the movement against the faith, and the movement's new, young leader. The dark and bittersweet hues and sentiment are the foreshadowing of the tenuous nature of their relationship and those that bind the revolutionary group together. The bonds between members of the group fray as differences in goals, ends and means to these become confused by the prospect that something bigger than love affairs and a growing movement of dissent accompany the toppling of a faith; chaos and the unknown.
